Lots of life on last Sundays blackwater dive off Palm Beach, Florida. Two rarities made appearances during my dive with the first being an absolutely stunning deepwater species of Cusk eel and a Snaketooth Swallower at the very end of the dive. Other nice surprises were a small Pancake Batfish and a male Nautilus.
*** The Cusk eel and Snaketooth Swallower are both extremely rare species rarely seen by divers and the Cusk eel has never been seen in Florida to my knowledge prior to this sighting. ... See MoreSee Less

Treated last night to this cute larval pancake batfish still in its bubble stage. A rather average night turned special towards the very end when I came across this little space fish about the size of a dime. I can finally check this one off my bucket list!
